			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7910885.stm">BBC Report</a> that 4 servicemen were killed in attacks in Afghanistan. These sad deaths will raise more debate about the degree of protection provided to soliders on routine patrols.</p>
<p>The fact of the matter is however that whilst some vehicles have increased levels of armour, it only takes increased levels of explosive power to negate the protection provided.</p>
<p>All the debate about Snatch landrovers was often fuelled by ignorance and not helped by the name &#8220;Snatch&#8221; which suggested light-weight and unarmoured. Sometimes light, yet fast, provides far better protection than armoured yet heavy.</p>
