4 killed in Afghanistan

BBC Report that 4 servicemen were killed in attacks in Afghanistan. These sad deaths will raise more debate about the degree of protection provided to soliders on routine patrols.

The fact of the matter is however that whilst some vehicles have increased levels of armour, it only takes increased levels of explosive power to negate the protection provided.

All the debate about Snatch landrovers was often fuelled by ignorance and not helped by the name “Snatch” which suggested light-weight and unarmoured. Sometimes light, yet fast, provides far better protection than armoured yet heavy.
