My interview today on Good Evening Wales
In case you missed my comments on BBC Radio Wales this evening about the state of war in Afghanistan you can listen to them here: Interview on Good Evening Wales
The salient points are:
1. The government is telling the military to implement Foreign Policy
2. The troops required by the military are not being made available to do the job
3. Whilst our troops are better equipped than ever we are still not providing sufficient helicopters or armoured vehicles to ensure reasonable levels of mobility and safety
4. The terrain in Afghanistan is challenging and dangerous
5. The Teleban are playing a long game, no rush: win as we best we can.
Without significant change in our resourcing strategy, there is little hope of real success.
