Spinning out of control
I don’t really want to comment on the machinations of Damian McBride and his ilk, but want to look at the issue from a slightly different angle and that is to do with who was paying these guys.
Sadly, it’s the public purse and I can’t help but fell that that is fundamentally wrong.
If the political masters employ people to do some skullduggery for them it should not be paid for by the public.
If there is any attempt to spin out of this story, it will only show that the political bosses of McBride et al do not control or manage their activity in a way that guarantees value for money to the public. In that regard they are failing in a fundamental duty of anyone in public office.
